The hospital was recognized at a ceremony conducted during the annual What’s Right in Health Care conference in Chicago on Aug. 2.
The Patient Care Awards are presented annually to a select group of organizations from Studer’s partner-base of hospitals, health systems and physician organizations.
In receiving the honor in the category of emergency care, the hospital had to rank in the upper quartile for overall emergency care satisfaction as measured by patient satisfaction surveys.
Other criteria included demonstrating high performance levels and achievement in patient care, employee engagement or physician engagement.
“As the busiest emergency department in Westchester, we are aware of our position in the community as a destination for advanced emergency care,” said Rafael Torres, the hospital’s director of emergency medicine, who accepted the award in Chicago on behalf of the organization. “We have an exceptional clinical team that has worked together to implement initiatives that help ensure we are always focused on providing each and every patient with a superior experience, excellent clinical outcomes, advanced technology, a seamless coordination of care and expedited treatment whenever possible.”
